Kindness in Action: South Dade Education Fund Illuminates Dreams at Miami Dade College
In a heartening celebration of education and kindness, the South Dade Education Fund recently granted scholarships to six outstanding students at Miami Dade College’s Homestead campuses. Alanna Bautista, Erika Gitani Bryant, Ashley Caniz, Amaryllis “Jay” Hernandez, Michaela Elizabeth Perea, and Erick Santiago Pinzon were the recipients of this transformative gift. Our team had the privilege of attending the event, where inspirational speakers Lucy Benedetti, Oscar Loynaz, and Anna Martinez shared powerful words that resonated with the essence of community, gratitude, and the profound impact of kindness.

Empowering Voices:
Lucy Benedetti, the President of the Education Fund, truly inspired the students to stay focused and motivated while on this educational journey. Lucy has always remained focused on her journey from youth and sharing her knowledge and mindset with the students, allowing them to dream big, and with hard work, it’ll always turn out more significant than imagined. A quote she said truly resonated with everyone present. As stated by Lucy Benedetti, “You are not just students but the architects of our shared tomorrow. Your dreams and ambitions fuel the engine of progress, and as you pursue your education with dedication and integrity, you are planting the seeds for a brighter, more compassionate world.”
A Grateful President:
Oscar Loynaz, the President of Miami Dade Homestead College campus, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the South Dade Education Fund. He acknowledged the significance of the scholarships, highlighting that this was the first of its kind for Miami Dade College. Loynaz thanked everyone involved in this noble cause, underscoring how fortunate he felt to be a part of an institution that prioritizes education and community support.
The Power of Kindness:
Anna Martinez, Vice President of the Miami Dade Education Fund, took the stage to speak about the importance of kindness. In a world often rushing forward, Martinez emphasized the power of slowing down and the profound impact that acts of kindness can have. “Being kind is an investment that comes back to you tenfold,” she remarked. Her words served as a gentle reminder that, in the journey of education and life, kindness is a force that transcends boundaries and creates a more compassionate world.

The combined impact of influential speakers, grateful leaders, and a community united by kindness created an atmosphere of hope and possibility.
